From our family to yours.
Our Story
Tom and I established the Four Suns Farm in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, in March 2023. You see, it’s all about making memories! With a deep and abiding love of family, flowers, sunshine, and the great outdoors, our dream is to create a unique experience for our four sons: Maximus, Finn, Liam, and Ezra.
We plan to grow with the Central Michigan community by developing a warm and inviting space for families to host memorable special events and capture those beautiful life moments among the backdrop of the lavender fields and surrounding evergreens.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

Our Lavender
We have more than 300 plants that are in their second and third year. Of the Lavandula Angustafolia (English Lavender), we have several cultivars, including Melissa, Pink Melissa, Maillette, Folgate, and Royal Velvet. We also have Lavandula x intermedia (French Lavender), with Edelweiss and Super cultivars.
This Spring, we will be adding 800 new plants, including Grosso and Gros Bleu! Lavender takes three years to mature into full bloom, but it can continue blooming every summer for more than 10 years.
Our peak bloom season varies slightly year-to-year, but typically runs from mid-June to late-July.
Our Farm
Our Farm
Our lavender farm is located just outside of Mount Pleasant, Michigan and sits adjacent to our family home. Many years ago, it was called "The Walker Farm" where they raised dairy cows. When my parents, owners of The VanderSys Tree Farm, bought the land, they planted Christmas trees and called it "The Pickard Farm". We still have Christmas trees on the property but as those are harvested, more lavender will come.
On my parents’ farm, I grew up running through the lanes of Christmas trees and playing hide and seek with my siblings under the boughs. We made picnics and sat beneath the fir trees in the middle of winter and in the heat of the summer. We took walks down to our tall pines and made secret forts in the branches. Later, Tom and I were married under the Birch tree that I spent much of my childhood climbing.
